1800 Soquel, Santa Cruz

When an opportunity arose to help address Santa Cruz’s growing housing need, Acme stepped forward. Partnering with Lowney Architecture, Acme is leading the development of a four-story, mixed-use apartment community at 1800 Soquel Avenue. The project will deliver quality, attainable housing just blocks from local shops, schools, and transit.

The development combines modern design with community-minded planning, transforming underutilized commercial lots into a vibrant residential hub for students, professionals, and families. With a focus on walkability, sustainability, and thoughtful integration into the neighborhood, 1800 Soquel Avenue reflects Acme’s commitment to smart urban infill and inclusive growth.

Project Highlights:
- 84 new apartment homes: 42 studios and 42 one-bedroom units
- 14 affordable units reserved for low- and very-low-income residents
- Ground-floor retail and café space to enhance neighborhood walkability
- Rooftop solar panels and green building standards that exceed city requirements
- 73 vehicle parking spaces and over 100 bicycle spaces
